Summary from Goodreads: I love Torin St. James...
I need his strength…
But someone from his past wants me dead.

Raine Cooper is certain of two things: her love for Torin St. James and her destiny to be a powerful seeress. But when she starts having premonitions, they are unclear and disturbing. Worse, they involve Torin. With her mother gone, her father dying, and her best friend in Hel, she is not sure who to talk to.

But when the visions become more personal and she foresees her future with Torin threatened by someone from his past, Raine becomes desperate for answers. Just her luck two new students arrive at   her school and they seem to have answers. When with them, her powers are enhanced and her visions become clear. There is only one problem: Torin forbids Raine to see the two girls.

Can their love survive without trust?

Seeress is the third installment in the Runes series (well, really the fourth if you include book #2.5, which you really should).  In this book, Raine's powers start to really emerge.  Her gift as a Seeress leads her to see the deaths of witches, and she discovers that she is the true target.  Her visions also make her question certain things about Torin, though, and she finds herself keeping things from him.  She has to unravel the mystery and discover what it all has to do with her before it's too late.

The negatives:
  • Torin and Raine.  While I generally love Torin and Raine together, they grated on my nerves just a little bit in this book.  Raine spent far too much time lusting after Torin - and describing how hot he was, especially in the first half of the book.  I was aware that she thought that Torin was the sexiest guy ever and I didn't need her to remind me over and over and over again.  I also started to get tired of her getting frustrated with his overprotectiveness.  These two things just took up too much of the book in my opinion.
What I loved:
  • Waiting for intimacy.  While there were a couple of things that bothered me about Raine and Torin in this book, I was thrilled with the fact that Walters chose not to have them jump into bed together.  This was so refreshing for a YA novel nowadays.  There was plenty of making out and lusting - but they had decided that they were going to wait to take that next step, and they held to that decision.  Yay!  It has felt to me lately like YA characters jump into bed with each other the minute they start dating, so I was happy to see a couple who's been dating for close to six months and holding off on that big step.  I also thought that it was very realistically handled because, let's face it, they really do want to have sex - but they're showing self control.  What's this self control I speak of?  I swear - it still exists.  Thank you Ednah Walters for showing it.
  • The secondary characters.  I really fell more and more in love with the secondary characters in this book.  Andris has always been a favorite of mine and he had some great moments in this book.  We also got to see more of Cora and Echo, and Ingrid played a bigger role in this book than she has in some of the past books.  Throw in Raine's parents and a few new characters and there were a lot of three-dimensional secondary characters to love!
  • The twists.  We got to learn a lot more about the mythology behind the series in this book, and we're getting closer and closer to Ragnarok, it seems.  As the stakes got higher, Walters threw in some fun and interesting twists that definitely kept me guessing.
I really enjoyed this installment in the Runes series.  Can't wait to see what Walters has in store for us next! 4/5 stars.
